The concept is simple: we are five medical students who love cooking for each other, eating without boundaries; and we want to give each other fantastic meals day in, day out. Often we don't have a great budget, but this doesn't stop us cooking great food.
We want to share our discovery that eating well needn’t be expensive. Scour your supermarket for the reduced label, discover your local Asian markets, get meat from a local butcher, buy a tin of beans (a staple that never stops giving). Work on some good basics in your cooking, and experiment away.
We have different cooking backgrounds, from those who have worked in kitchens to those that have never worked a gas hob. So don’t worry if some of our recipes seem a little beyond the norm – find ones you like, give them a try. And then one day you might decide to go a little further.

Oliver: The Artist
Came to medicine via art, anthropology and primates. Came to food via time abroad, time in kitchen and thyme in the garden. Now living with four amazing and equally enthusiastic foodies. This is the closest I've come to bringing it all together!

Couldn't dice onions finely enough to cook at Le Manior, so I thought I'd give medicine a try instead.
26 year old neurosciences graduate, a little Mexican and a little bit of everything else. I tend to think of what to cook for supper before getting dressed in the morning.
This blog was created as a memoir of the amazing people I live with and the amazing cuisine that we make for each other.

Or, alternatively, 'The sweet tooth'. Francophile with a penchant for baking and general eating. On a mission to recreate and reinvent all my family's favourite comfort foods, both British and 'Naija'. Reaping the rich rewards of the housemates' culinary creations in the meantime (and happily!).

If it's weird, I'll eat it. Insects, 'fish' from cans in a language I can't read, balut eggs - all delicious. If I can buy the ingredients, I'll then try to cook it. When we decided to create this blog, I decided to get my camera working again... (so did Olly Allon!)
